How to Understand Each Other in Climate Resilience Work

5 Modules 7 Lessons Easy

About this course

In this session we examine the consequences of words and how language use affects our climate resilience work. Two risk standards dominate the enterprise risk management.  ISO 31000 (ISO Guide 73) and COSO ERM provide strict definitions for words used in risk management.

We use risk assessments to measure climate resilience. We need this information to deal with the risk. We must clearly convey the meaning of assessment finding to support action on resilience.

In this course, Joan briefly discusses some examples of language that might pose problems in communicating assessment results.
